INTACH: The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage
The Bhuj Earthquake of 26 January, 2001
INTACH REPORTS PAGE
Field Report on the Earthquake Damage to Heritage Sites.
The following report has been provided by INTACH, and have been added to this site because it serves to broaden the coverage of the damage to historical buildings in Gujarat. A more complete file of information and photographs of damaged sites prepared by INTACH was presented on this site until space requirements mandated its retirement on February 1, 2003. The UNESCO mission was limited by what one person could cover in only three weeks, while INTACH has made a number of surveys in the area, and has listed and catalogued the damaged sites. The INTACH web site is at www.intach.net.
